Simplify the Way You Manage Your Lighting Controls

Our lighting controls will simplify the way you manage your lighting controls and are ideal as a campus standard. Instead of programming on-site or making adjustments with a screw-driver on the top of a ladder, you can program or monitor your lighting controls right from your desk, eliminating time consuming (and costly) work orders.

Control and program any aspect of your lighting controls, for a single building, a campus or even an entire district. LC&D offers a number of hardware and software options for any application. We can even link your new buildings with existing ones to create a comprehensive campus-wide or even district-wide system.

To simplify specification and installation, LC&D offers assistance with our team of highly trained Sales Engineers, and our Engineering Assistance Department. They can make recommendations, and even assist with AutoCAD drawings.

LC&D offers a number of interfaces to many building automation systems.

Link Buildings
Hardware Solutions:

Every GR 2400 system includes a modem in the master panel. Using Unity lighting control software or Unity GX advanced graphical software, dial-up monitoring or programming is a snap. Connect to any location from your pc computer.

The LANLink card can link buildings together with a dedicated twisted copper-pair network (open topology). Buildings may be up to 4000 feet apart. Up to 99 buildings may be linked in this fashion.

The Wireless Modem is ideal for locations that may be difficult to reach with a twisted pair or even a phone line, such as ball fields, or even separate buildings. The wireless modem uses line-of-sight technology with distances up to fifteen miles apart. Dial-up or Ethernet connections are available.

The Link to PC/Ethernet card allows you to use your existing Local Area Network (TCP/IP) to communicate to multiple buildings. Utilize existing Ethernet cabling and hubs. Up to five separate computers can simultaneously access and program, monitor, or trouble-shoot the lighting controls in every building, all without dial-up connection.

Link multiple buildings using your existing building automation infrastructure.

  Software Solutions:

Unity lighting control software is a device-specific lighting control application which can "look" at any relay panel, switch, photocell, or other digital accessory, to make adjustments, programming changes, trouble-shooting, and manually control in real-time. Press the virtual buttons of a real switch and turn lights on and off as through you were right in front of the switch.

Dial into a system and Unity can read and download system parameters, display them, and save them to a disk at any time.

Unity is also used as a design (specification) software package that can output single line drawings and more in AutoCAD.

Unity can be downloaded from our web site at no cost.

Unity GX advanced graphical software is a site specific real-time lighting control application. Import AutoCAD drawings or almost any graphic format. Add controls functions to any zone and manually control lighting in real time with real-time status feed back.

Save Energy

Most schools spend more money on energy than on books and supplies. In fact, the cost of energy is second only to salaries. According to the U.S. Deptartment of Education, school energy was an average of $176 per student in 2002, and is probably much higher now. A proper daylighting and lighting control strategies can save up to $85 per student per year. By reducing these operational costs, the savings can be redirected to improving education.

Because of its flexible nature, the GR 2400 system by LC&D can realize a significant energy savings. Occupants enjoy the ability to temporarily manually override automatic control settings. Administrators enjoy the ease with which automatic and manual controls can be adjusted or reprogrammed to accommodate changing needs.

Studies have found that a proper daylight harvesting system can reduce lighting by 84%, and total energy use by 44%. Occupancy controls and time-based controls as well as splitting lighting circuits in a single room, can reduce lighting another 50% using the MicroPanel.

LC&D also offer intelligent thermostats for most Roof Top Units, ideal for single story school buildings. Intelligent thermostats can be programmed to implement a number of energy-savings strategies.

Programming all thermostats and lighting control for an entire campus or school district can be done from one or multiple locations.

Our Engineering Assistance Department can suggest control strategies, and the most effective method to implement them. They can generate typical single line drawings or actual drawings in AutoCAD format to almost any level of detail for your plans. For a free energy analysis of your building to determine the best approach for lighting controls, feel free to contact us.

Once your lighting controls are installed, Unity lighting control software can monitor energy use. Adjustments and fine-tuning make all the difference and we can assist as part of our free lifetime dial-up programming.

Retrofit Solutions
LC&D offers retrofit packages to upgrade your existing breaker panels to SmartBreaker Panels (SBP). The SBP combines over-current protection and lighting controls in a single package. Simply replace the interior of an existing breaker panel with the SmartBreaker retrofit package. Often no new conduit or re-circuiting is required.

The MicroPanel will upgrade existing offices or classrooms to "smart rooms". Use existing wiring to minimize labor. Even use existing wall switches. MicroPanel accessories include low voltage photocells and occupancy sensors, which can be installed with minimal labor impact.

Applications which use contactor panels or older relay panels system can benefit from any of our digital relay panels including the GR 2400 panel or the Blue Box.

LC&D offers design assistance with our team of highly-trained Sales Engineers, and our Engineering Assistance Department. They can make recommendations, and even assist with AutoCAD drawings.

Reduce Maintenance
LC&D recommends adopting a campus or district-wide standard for lighting controls. This will lower maintenance costs both in regards to training time and parts inventory. Better yet, establish LC&D as your campus standard and lower maintenance even more by the elimination of most field calls.

Programming changes, trouble-shooting, adjustments and monitoring can all be done either locally or remotely using Unity lighting control software or Unity GX advanced graphical software.

Our Unity lighting control software is so easy to use that we will do it for you. For free. Extend your maintenance team to include LC&D. We are on call 24/7/365 and can program, adjust or monitor your lighting controls in real-time so your maintenance group can concentrate on handling the bigger problems.
